Today, I interviewed 15 candidates for an internship role. And it left me with a powerful realization.
We often hear people say, “Gen Z doesn’t want to work,” or “They lack seriousness.” But my experience today posed a very different question-are we being unfair by boxing an entire generation into a stereotype?
What I witnessed was curiosity, openness, and a genuine willingness to learn and grow. I saw young minds ready to explore, eager to contribute, and hungry for knowledge.
The truth is-no generation is one-dimensional. Yes, there will always be some who drift. But there will also always be those who stand out, who prove their calibre, and who remind us that growth and potential are not bound by age or generation.
Today was a lesson for me, and for all of us who tend to judge too quickly. Gen Z isn’t a “workforce problem.” Gen Z is a workforce possibility-one that can bring fresh energy, ideas, and resilience if we’re willing to see beyond the stereotypes.
