Today, I received an honest message from my intern. She said:
“Ma’am, you’re putting your heart into this, but the results aren’t showing because you don’t fully understand the algorithm. Your content is outstanding-but it’s not reaching the right people.”
At first, I paused. Then I smiled.
Because this is what growth truly looks like-being open to feedback, even when it stings a little.
It reminded me of two things:
1. Hard work alone isn’t enough-direction matters as much as effort.
2. Sometimes the clarity we need comes from fresh eyes, if we’re willing to listen.
In a growth mindset, feedback is not criticism-it’s a compass. And today, my compass came from an intern who dared to speak her truth.
To me, that’s a win worth celebrating.
What’s the most honest feedback you’ve received recently that changed your perspective?
